Satisfactory recently announced on September 29th that they will be releasing a DLC. Coffee Stain Studios the publishing company behind Satisfactory are known for tailoring to their community and leaving sneaky easter eggs in their videos to the community. Before the announcement, a YouTuber (TotalXclipse) known for their theorizing before official announcements, and Satisfactory in general, kept making videos about the potential upcoming DLC. Coffee Stain Studios commented on a video saying, “You’re missing a piece of evidence we’ve already physically gave you”. (Link) While the DLC has been announced, they kept the reality of it vague. For a release date at the end of the trailer, it says “Coming……..LaterTM“, and in the Live Show interview with the game director of Satisfactory when announcing the DLC, it was about just as vague. It did confirm, “Later”, means not this year. They also confirmed that while focus has shifted more to the Core Values DLC they do still plan to do free updates to Satisfactory, but when Emmet started going into detail about what those updates could look like, ADA the in-game AI started talking over him and saying “Avoid bad actors… Like this one”. A funny gag but another thing that the community knows they’re going to get more of but won’t know until it’s a lot closer to release date. The interview ends with Emmet about to talk about a potential timeline, when two other Satisfactory team members knock Emmet out and “kidnap him”. Another funny gag, but another sweep under the rug, leaving viewers guessing. All-in-all the new information is still exciting but requires patience.
